Does it write “Donkey” on my forehead?!

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

I’m tired of every thing but mostly of practically living in the Cyberpipe and working there for nothing. A sped a lot of my time in this underground place and I have to finish this year on the faculty, but I don’t spend to much time for it. The days when I have lectures on the faculty are intouchable, that means that I’m on the faculty and nobody can take me away from there. It is beacause of that that I become angry when somebody insists on taking me away from there. That’s why I don’t want to help this Friday putting the computer museum together, because I have lectures. And nobody, I repeat NOBODY, should even try to take me away from there.
I’m nervous because I’m repeating this year and I have to finish it this year!

God damned ThinkPad 390…

Monday, November 21st, 2005

I’ve got a beast like that
ThinkPad 390
I had to repair the left swing because it was borken. After a couple of hours of drilling, screwing, … I finished. I made some extra metallic holders and armoured the swing in a way that it is now kinda indistructive.

After the “dirty” work I said: “Well I like Linux and I don’t use any other OS for now, so let’s install my preferred distro (Slackware).”
It took some time and it installed without any problems. Then guess what!?! ACPI, USB and many other thing haven’t worked. So I said: “Cool! Let’s recompile the kernel!” and then… more and more things stopped to work, so I said: “Let’s install something that should work from out of the box! Let’s install Ubuntu!”.

Ubuntu worked for the time of the installation, the configuration (USB did not work there too) until I took my laptoop to sleep. Ubuntu never woke up again since then, so I said: “God dammit Foobuntu. Let’s use something that a least stands on it’s feet.” And there was Slackware again. Installed, configured, recompiled the kernel, ….. but again on the 2.6.x the USB doesn’t work. Guess why!?!? Nobody knows! :P
I’ll write more about configuring my laptop here because I see that there’s not so much talking about things that don’t work on this model of the ThinkPad.

Cinelerra 2.0 finally usable!

Monday, November 21st, 2005

I never liked cinelerra because it was always so f****** complex to understand why do I have to care about things that I don’t want to care about. And it happend! Cinelerra can import many kind of video formats without complications with reindexation of them etc… It just does the work by itself. By including this feature the developers gave to Cinelerra an oportunity to expand to the “world of the begginers”. It’s finally usable and with the new GUI/themes it is likely a non frghtening application. Let’s all use Cinelerra!

Hey! I’m back!

Monday, November 21st, 2005

A lot of things happend in these two months when I wasn’t writing. Yea… I took some “days” free from writing so much blogs.
No, I was not in the mood.
I got an old laptop, an IBM ThinkPad 390 and I’m still working on it to make it work perfectly but I encountered some problems with Linux. I will write about it in a later post.
So, let’s write something interesting!
