Some nice video applications
I was reading my morning news and articles (Slashdot, Freshmeat, OSNews, Monologue,…) and found 2 very promissing projects.
First one is Jashaka, which I’ve known for quite some time, but could never do anything usefull with it. Basically, it’s a video/media editing, composition and effects software. It has OpenGL-based GUI and it’s quite fast.

The second one is DIVA, “motion video editing in mono & gstreamer.” It’s beeing developed for about a month now, by one of the Novell’s Mono developers, Michael Dominic. And I must say, for a month-old project it seams to be progressing very quickly! There’s no released code for now, but it has publicly accessable SVN repository, for those who want to play.

I must say I really like what those guys at Mono Project are doing. The flash demos they put on the web every once in a while do make me, and others, drool. It’s amazing what one can do if one get’s paid to do it. :)
