Programming and D&D?
I’ve found this interesting quote on Slashdot’s “Ask Slashdot”:
Tabletop roleplaying involves coming up with creative solutions to problems set in a clearly-defined ruleset, involve constant data-tracking and minor mathematical equations, and involve working together with small groups of people toward like-minded goals. Conversely, love of roleplaying can illustrate how important creativity is to good programming.
When I first read it (at 7:30 in the morning with my “eyes wide close”) I went “Say what?!” But when you read it a few times, specialy when you understand all the words, it does make sense.
