OMG! My blog is up again!

January 14th, 2007 at 01:31

I’m just afraid to write anything long because I’m not really sure if it will stay up long enough for anyone to read it. :/

That aside, I was quite productive in last six months and one of the things you can take a look at is my new shiny photoblog - FailedGuideDog Photography!

I got my inspiration for it from [daily dose of imagery] photoblog from a Canadian guy named Sam Javanrouh. He’s an exceptional photographer and I hope I’ll be able to get his book.

Anyway, FGDP uses my own photoblogging application named PixelPerfect. It’s build using Django and written in Python. I host it at Dreamhost, which is not all that reliable for Django but it’s cheap and it seams to be working with no problems for a month now. Maybe I’ll be moving this blog there too… we’ll see.

Happy towel day!

Where is your towel today? It better be somwhere near you, because you never know when the Earth is about to get demolished to make way for some bypass! :)

Some things…

… are just damn funny! :)

Like this Henry’s Python Programming Guide - Part 1 from Henry the Adequate.

It made me laugh for hours! :)

When it rains…

… life gets wonderful! :)

It’s unbelievable how can an email starting with:

Dear Applicant,

Congratulations! This email is being sent to inform you that your
application was accepted to take part in the Summer of Code.

make a rainy day one of the nicest days of the year! :)

Yes, my application for creating a “Full history for Django” backend was accepted! I was a bit surprised that this one was accepted, because it got the least support and positive comments, in contrast to the other two applications (both Xen related) which seamed to rank much higher.

Anyway, today I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome and I will do my best to get the goals for the project done!

I can just feel it… how this summer will be a very special one!

Thank you guys at Google for creating SoC and thanks to you guys at Django to believe in me and my idea.

EDIT: And of course, a special thanks to Jure, who’s idea was it in the first place. Thanks.

Look, mom! I can drive!

May 18th, 2006 at 11:14

Hehe, I can legally drive again! :) My driver’s license expired a week ago and I’ve finally managed to to get the doctor’s approval that I am still capable of driving a car. This time I have 10 years till next expiration. And I’ll probably forget then too. :)

Actually, I was quite surprised how quick the process was! I had the medical exam at 8:30 and was done at the municipal office at 9:50! For the degree of bureaucracy trouble I am used to in Slovenia this was a very nice surprise.

E-uprava site looks nice, but finding any useful info… suicide! MaQ, tnx!
