Nice day aka “4 Coffees later”
I know I should write this stuff the day it happens (well, more for historical reasons than anything else), but it seams that there are a little too few hours in a day. :(
Anyway, it was s really nice day yesterday. Again, I had trouble getting out of bed, but somehow managed to get up before 9.00. Maybe because I just could not afford to miss the Programming 2 lab. It was the last chance (well, next tuesday was an option too, but not a very good one, because of the pre-exam on wednesday) for presenting “stisniga” program. But before I took off I just have to have a cup of coffee, ’cause I could not keep my eyes open for long enough to get to the bus station.
And guess what? I was 5 minutes late for the class and I was instantly the last one that will be allowed to present my programs. :( So, there I was, sitting in front of my code, trying to figure out a way how to explain what and how it works. I helped a friend with a same problem a little, went for a coffee and a little fresh air and two hours and a half later…
… it was finally my friend’s and mine turn. The assistant asked us both which programs we have for presentation. And while we had the same kind of program, implementing practically the same algorithm, we presented our work together. And it was a comedy! :) Well, all we’ve done was that we showed that programs work and elaborate a little why there was difference in compression efficiency. As far as assistant knows, I could just renamed one of the existing *zip’s (bzip2, gzip,…) and used that!
Long story short, we both got a 10 for a final mark! Woohoo!
By the time we were done it was time for lunch. So we met with my friends girlfriend and went to the local student cafeteria for a bite. There we met some other friends and went for a coffee after the lunch. I like this kind of afternoons with my friends.
Later I somehow ended up helping this other friend with his final Programming 2 assignment. And at some point three drunk neighbors of his rushed into the room and dragged us to a birthday party across the hall. I decided this was the good time to leave. I just can’t stand drunk people in the middle of the day.
Few minutes later I found myself on a bus going for Cyberpipe. I did that automatically, a habit I guess. Well, there I met with Dejan and we went for another coffee. Afterwards, there was nothing interesting going on at Cyberpipe, so we headed home.
It was a nice day, all speeded-up with 4 coffees. Actually, I’m writing this with a cup of fresh coffee in my hand. :)
