Just fu***ing unbelievable!

On friday my iBook’s hard disk died! :( Or it sort-of-died. When I turn the laptop on it works, but slow. And after a while (maybe 10, 15 minutes) it all stops - OS X gives me “the umbrella thingy” and the disk goes “click-grrrrr-click-grrr” (you get the picture). Anyways, it took me 2 days to save most of the files of off it, using rsync, ssh and LAN connection to my linux PC. I’m glad my p0rn collection is safe now! :)

This little meltdown will cost me around 17.000 SIT for a 40GB 5400 rpm disk drive and twice as much if I let them “technical people” at EPL (Apple Store in Slovenija) install it. :( I guess I’ll try my luck and install it my self. It looks like I’ll have to take apart most of the poor iBook just to get to the broken drive. And that’s an easy part! I’ll have to put it back together! :(

So, what else was fu**ed up past few weeks? Oh, yeah, I’v fluncked all my exams and it’s not looking good in Avgust either. Well, we’ll see about that.

What else…? Of course, Google Summer of Code project! Well, we didn’t got accepted so the money went out the window. :( Fortunatly, one nice programmer found our CollabNet idea interesting, so I think we’ll work with him on this and try to make it work. Hmm… haven’t spoke to Ivan for a while now… hmm… I wonder what happened to him? :)

Besides that, the Insomnia project has gone down the toilett or the founding for it anyway. So we have to figure out if we’ll still going to do it and then hope we could make it open source and market the support for it (as we will be the only ones to know how to make it work anyway:). Maybe it will be just a nice contribution to the community. I don’t know.

The falure of founding for the previous two projects I had to take the plunge and accept the job at the same commpany I worked the last two summers. I went there today to get the details about the job sorted out. It seams I’ll be doing the same thing I’ve been doing so far, for a month. Some of the people were happy to see me back, because they has some stuff for me to do. But others, like the main system administrator, seams to hate my guts! He was obviously not happy to see me there and I just can’t figure out why.
And then there was the lady from Human Resouces that gave me a hard time about the salary. In the end I had to settle for a price that is even lower than what I was payed at Cyberpipe for just sitting there and being smart! :(

Life just sucks right now… :(
