Back on Apple :)

Finally, I did it! It took me a month, but he who waits,… is a waiter! :)

As you may have guessed, I’ve finally managed to replace the dying hard drive in my iBook. Now it’s bigger, faster and better! :) 40GB over 30GB, 8MB cache over 2MB and 5200rpm’s over 4800! It’s a lean, mean fighting machine! :) And it’s quiet too! Is there anything a geek can wish more?! (well, a girlfriend would be nice :)

Anyway, I’m in “un-backuping mode” now, restoring all the stuff I’ve managed to backup from the old drive and getting all the development and other tools back in function. I was forced to install Panther, because Tiger is still in a cage somewhere, but for now Panther is all I need. Maybe I’ll switch in a month or two…

(Now, where did I put that iLife 05 iso? And the iWork one?)

PS: I hate reinstalls! Thats probably the reason I’m still sticking with a 2 year old Slackware distro (9.1) on my other machine. It just works! It’s sort of old, but it works. I hope Pat releases that 10.2 or 11.0 soon, so I can upgrade 3 releases up! :)
